Fill packs and drift eliminator panels

The evaporative cooling tower is a simple piece of equipment in terms of construction and very effective in terms of operation. In order to obtain the maximum performance with the minimum energy consumption it is very important to maintain the unit to the maximum efficiency.

A simple inspection of general state of the main components (fill pack, motor fan set, water distribution system, etc) will allow  to run the unit for long time trouble free.

For this purpose M.I.T.A. offers for all the models of her own production, a wide range of spare parts and new solutions able to restore and ensure the original efficiency.

Technical specifications

CLEAN WATER

Air-water channel 12 mm (PVC or PP)
Panels for very clean water, with a max temperature of +55°C (PVC) and +80°C (PP), suitable for cooling towers employed for the cooling of water from air conditioning and refrigeration installations.
This kind of fill pack presents shape and size such as to optimize the air-water contact and the consequent heat exchange process.

FEATURES:

thermoformed PVC sheets, bonded  together;
self-extinguishing with ASTM E-84 certification (excluded for PP version).

Air-water channel 19 mm (PVC or PP)
Panels for water of industrial plants but clean, with a max temperature of+55°C (PVC)* and +80°C (PP).
This kind of fill pack considerably reduces dirty/clogging factors though optimizing air-water contact and the consequent heat exchange process.

FEATURES:

thermoformed PVC sheets, bonded  together;
self-extinguishing with ASTM E-84 certification (excluded for PP version).

DIRTY WATER

“N” version (PVC, special PVC for high temperatures)
Panels for water moderately dirty or turbid water (suspended solids with Ø<200 microns, concentration <1000mg/l) with a max temperature of+55°C (PVC) and +80°C (special PVC).

FEATURES:

geometric form with vertical and corrugated channels
avoids or limits any eventual blockages due to the presence of somewhat dirty water.

“GS-L” version (PVC, special PVC for high temperatures)
Panels for water moderately dirty water, developed by MITA to provide a high heat exchange due to the particular configuration combined SPLASH (predominant) and FILM maintaining low pressure drop on the air side thanks to channel conformation.

FEATURES:

thermoformed PVC sheets, bonded  together (use of glue not required)
excellent mechanical strength
easy to clean, if necessary
avoids or limits any eventual blockages due to the presence of somewhat dirty water.

“GS” version (PP grates for dirty water – SPLASH type)
Panels for very dirty water (suspended solids and colloids with Ø < 200-300 microns, concentration <1000 mg/l) and with a maximum temperature of +100°C.

FEATURES:

geometric form with struts, spaced and crossed-over with respect to the underlying panel
the ample dimensions of the water/air passages ensure the non-clogging properties of this fill model even in the presence of fibres and small solid particles in suspension
very easy to clean, if necessary.

Drift eliminator panel (PP)
High efficiency panels with “Eurovent” certification, designed for vertical airflows, the geometrical form comprises two changes in airflow direction: the efficiency is 99%.

FEATURES:

thermoformed PP sheets bonded together to obtain panels with shape and dimensions such as to ensure maximum efficiency of water droplets separation from the air stream sucked by the fan.
